Frederick native Emonte Hill enters first season as head men's basketball coach of the Frederick Community College men's basketball program. For the past 10 years Coach Hill was the top assistant at Hood College in Frederick, MD where he helped build the program from the ground up through his coaching and recruiting responsibilities.
After graduating from Frederick High School, Hill played his first two years of collegiate basketball at FCC where as a sophomore he was named the team's Most Valuable Player.
Hill then transfered to the University of South Carolina-Spartansburg. While at USC Spartanburg, Hill was a two year starter and as a senior finished 16th in the NCAA Division II in assists per game. He finished his career ranked fourth in school history in assists per game and ninth all time in career assists despite playing just two years.
Hill earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in physical education and business from USC-Spartansburg in 2002.
